KJ Lee said… Also, per discussion with Prof. Ram Rajagopal at Stanford, I learned some developments in China also. Currently Stanford is running Global Climate & Energy Project with various institutions worldwide including Peking University. I plan to meet some researchers there through Prof. Ram Rajagopal during my visit to China to see my brother.
If something comes up, will post more info from China also.
Have a good end of year!

Thank, Dr. Hamilton !
It is really great to have interaction with you. Currently, I am doing Ph.d. and my main research area is on "Distributed generation"therefore it is important to be on such a platform where I can share my experience and get benefited from others. I am really grateful to you for initiatives toward smart-grid. If something comes up, I will post it asap.

NJ
Carlos Frederico M. Almeida said… Hi Bruce.
Thanks for the welcome.
Actually, I am part of a research group in Brazil which is responsible for a strategic project regarding Smart Grids. It is a project sponsored by our national regulatory agency (ANEEL) and its objective is to define a roadmap for the Implementation of Smart Grids in Brazil.
Professor Nelson Kagan is the head of our research group and the person in charge for the project. We have been working together with around 37 power distribution companies in Brazil. Dr. Kagan will present some of the results we achieved in IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference.
Feel free to ask any questions. I would be glad to help you.
Regards,
Carlos FREDerico
Bruce Hamilton said… Hi Carlos, It would be great to highlight the strategic Smart Grid project you are involved on the SGN site. Individuals can post Information (links, videos, reports, etc.) on the Brazilian smart grid initiative on the social network area of the site.
In addition, we can authorize local institutions to be content administrators for the Brazil.SmartGrid.com site. If you goto SmartGrid.com and click on Illinois, you see the type of information we posted on the site for this state (key players, projects, articles, etc.). If you go back to SmartGrid.com and select the region Asia or Europe, you are taken to a map of that region and can select a country. The country level sites currently indicate that we are looking to identify one or more content administrators. If local institutions are interested to post information on smart grid activities in Brazil, we will create a similar regional map for Latin America, and setup administrator accounts for the local institutions.
Do you think ANEEL and/or the universities involved in your research program would be interested to be site content administrtors for Brazil? I will be chairing a panel on International Smart Grid Collaboration at the IEEE PES conference that Dr. Kagan is attending. It would be nice to meet at the event. Can you kindly asked Dr. Kagan to contact me at bhamilton@smartgrid.com?
Thanks for all your help.
Regards, Bruce.
